Composed in 1931 by Dimitri Shostakovich, THE BOLT, after a book by Viktor Smirnov, is being staged for the first time in more than 70 years. Choreographer Alexei Ratmansky conceived for the Bolshoi, a ballet of the absurd set in a Soviet factory where robots tower over human beings and ending in a blood red delirious grand parade.
