Giselle by Adolphe Adam has gone into the annals of the history of dance as the ‘ballet of ballets’ or the ‘Hamlet among ballets’. Even today it is considered one of the most beautiful and most characteristic works of the classical ballet, perhaps because it has as its theme all the emotions and the deep passion for dancing. It is about a terrible curse: dance obsessed girls who died young have to take revenge on men and dance with them until they drop dead.
